Your new company

Our client is a global infrastructure investment firm with an impressive portfolio of operational renewable energy assets in Australia. Their assets cover all technologies across Wind, Solar, and BESS. This is an opportunity for an experienced Asset Engineer to take technical ownership of operational performance across solar, wind and BESS assets. Working across a diverse generation portfolio, you will oversee asset performance, contractors, maintenance, HV infrastructure, operational technology and compliance while supporting the commissioning and integration of new renewable energy projects.

Your new role

You will be responsible for:

- Monitoring and optimising the performance, availability and reliability of operational solar, wind and BESS assets
- Providing technical oversight of SCADA, BMS, Power Plant Controllers (PPC), communications and control systems
- Troubleshooting operational issues alongside OEMs, O&M; providers and specialist contractors
- Working with industrial communications including Modbus TCP/RTU, plant networking and remote monitoring systems
- Overseeing Balance of Plant electrical systems, including HV infrastructure, protection and switching
- Coordinating planned outages, energisation and isolation activities with DNSPs/NSPs, OEMs and authorised HV service providers
- Managing O&M; contractors, maintenance schedules, operating expenditure and capital requirements
- Investigating asset underperformance, technical faults and operational risks and driving corrective actions




- Preparing asset performance, incident and compliance reporting for senior internal stakeholders
- Supporting technical due diligence, asset improvement initiatives and future acquisitions

What you'll need to succeed

- A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related discipline
- 3+ years' experience within renewable energy, power generation, utilities or HV electrical infrastructure
- Experience working with operational solar, wind and/or BESS assets
- Strong understanding of HV electrical systems, protection, switching and network operations
- Exposure to SCADA, BMS, PPC and plant control systems
- Knowledge of industrial communications such as Modbus TCP/RTU
- Experience coordinating OEMs, O&M; providers and technical contractors
- Understanding of asset management, preventative maintenance and lifecycle planning
- Strong HSE and operational risk management capability
- Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills
