We are looking for an experienced, creative and digitally savvy Senior Lifestyle Reporter to join our Sydney newsroom.

The ideal candidate will have an impressive track record of finding and breaking exclusive stories of national and global interest, combined with a passion for creating compelling content across multiple platforms.

We want someone who can spot a trending story before it takes off, uncover original angles, write engaging copy and bring stories to life through video and social media. Whether it's interviewing a high-profile personality, testing the latest beauty product, presenting a TikTok or creating an engaging Instagram Reel, you'll be confident producing and writing content that captures attention and connects with audiences.

The successful applicant will be a collaborative, proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and is equally comfortable working autonomously and as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Proactively identify, research and break exclusive features and lifestyle stories, with a strong focus on original angles, emerging trends and topics that resonate with Australian and international audiences

- Deliver vibrant, accurate and engaging copy to tight deadlines while maintaining Daily Mail Australia's distinctive editorial style

- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry experts, influencers, publicists, brands and key media contacts to generate a consistent flow of exclusive stories

- Conduct interviews with high-profile personalities,



industry experts and everyday Australians to uncover compelling stories and original content

- Create, present and produce engaging short-form video content for TikTok, Reels and other social platforms, bringing lifestyle stories, trends and experiences to life

- Confidently present on camera, including product demonstrations, interviews, lifestyle explainers and social-first video content

- Review and test products, experiences and services across lifestyle categories including beauty, fashion, health, food, travel and home, delivering informative, entertaining and engaging editorial content

- Work collaboratively with editorial and social media teams to identify opportunities to repurpose stories into compelling multimedia content

- Stay across emerging social media trends, viral products, consumer interests and cultural moments to develop timely and engaging stories

- Use audience insights, analytics and SEO best practices to maximise reach and engagement across digital platforms

To be a successful in this role, you must have;

- A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in journalism, communications or a related field

- Proven lifestyle and/or features reporting experience across areas including real life, fashion, beauty, royals, health, travel, food and consumer trends

- A strong track record of generating original story ideas, securing exclusives and producing compelling journalism

- Confidence and experience presenting to camera, with the ability to communicate naturally and engagingly across TikTok, Instagram and other digital platforms





- Experience creating and editing short-form video content, particularly Instagram Reels and TikToks, with an understanding of what drives views, shares and engagement

- A passion for reviewing and testing products, with the ability to translate first-hand experiences into engaging, credible and informative stories and videos

- An excellent understanding of social media trends, viral content and the evolving digital landscape

- Strong writing, interviewing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and content for different platforms and audiences

- A robust network of industry contacts, experts, publicists and talent across the lifestyle sector

- Excellent news judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure

- An understanding of media law, copyright and ethical reporting standards

- A collaborative attitude, initiative and the ability to work independently in a busy newsroom

- Flexibility regarding shift patterns
