An exciting chance is now available for an experienced and motivated Section Manager to join our Longford leadership team, with primary responsibility for our Counter and Customer Service operation.

About the Role

As Section Manager, you'll lead our Counter and Customer Service team, ensuring every customer receives the welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive service Hill Street is known for.

You will be accountable for:

- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing customer service team

- Creating exceptional customer experiences and fostering a customer-first culture

- Managing daily department operations, including rostering and labour allocation

- Driving sales, presentation and operational excellence within the department

- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training of team members

- Maintaining high standards of food safety, compliance and workplace safety

- Managing stock levels, product presentation and waste minimisation

- Handling customer enquiries, feedback and issue resolution professionally

- Supporting the Store Manager with broader store operations and leadership activities

- Building a positive and engaged team culture that reflects Hill Street's values

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proven leader who can demonstrate:

- Experience leading teams within a supermarket, retail, hospitality or customer service environment

- Strong people leadership,



coaching and communication skills

- A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences

- Experience managing rosters, labour allocation or day-to-day operational activities

- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

- The ability to drive accountability while maintaining a positive and engaging team culture

- Confidence handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally

- A customer-first mindset and commitment to continuous improvement

- Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements

- Flexibility to work across our trading hours, including alternate weekends and some public holidays

- The physical capability to meet the demands of a hands-on retail leadership role
