General Practice Medical Receptionist

Port GPs is seeking a current Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team.

We’re looking for a confident, motivated, and enthusiastic person who takes pride in contributing to a welcoming, organised environment for both patients and staff.

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be an integral part of our front desk team, welcoming and assisting our patients, taking phone queries, supporting our health care professionals as well as general administration duties.

This position will commence on a casual basis, with a strong possibility of transitioning to part-time hours only for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is available to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greeting patients and providing friendly, professional customer service

- Answering telephone calls and managing enquiries

- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, referrals and records

- Provide support to doctors, nurses and other team members

- Prioritise workflows and time management effectively

- Process billings and payments including Medicare, DVA and Workcover

Desired Criteria:

- Previous experience working in Medical Reception or a similar role





- Experience with Best Practice Software and Medicare billing

- An understanding of the Medicare system

- Excellent computer skills and attention to detail
