SIT is a daytime café kitchen at 387 Illawarra Rd, Marrickville, trading 7 days. We cook from scratch with fresh, quality produce, and we’re looking for an experienced chef to join our team, starting soon.

Full-time or casual available. Usual shift is 6:30am to 4:30pm, no nights. Availability across all 7 days is needed, so flexibility is a must.

The role We’re hiring at two levels, depending on your qualifications:

Commis Chef: trade-qualified cook (Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent) with kitchen experience

Junior Chef: solid kitchen experience, not yet trade-qualified

Pay is set under the Restaurant Industry Award, based on the classification that fits your skills and qualifications.

What you’ll do

Prep mise en place and cook dishes to SIT recipes and standards

Work your station confidently during service

Keep a clean,



protected kitchen and follow food safety practices

Work under the direction of our Executive Chef and senior team

Who we’re looking for

Kitchen experience, comfortable on a busy station

Cares about valuable produce and enjoys cooking things properly, from scratch

Takes direction and feedback well, and keeps learning

Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure

A positive teammate with both kitchen and front of house
