About the Opportunity
SkyDB is seeking a talentedSenior Software Engineerto join a major Australian Government technology programme.
This is an opportunity for an experienced technical professional who enjoys building high-quality software, solving complex engineering challenges and guiding development teams towards successful delivery.
You'll play a key role in designing, developing and delivering secure, scalable enterprise applications while contributing to technical decisions, engineering standards and continuous improvement.
We're particularly interested in professionals who combinestrong hands‐on development skills with technical leadership experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the design, development and delivery of complex enterprise software applications.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to software development teams.
Design scalable, secure and maintainable software solutions.
Oversee software development activities, including coding, testing, integration and deployment.
Lead technical design reviews and recommend improvements to software architecture.
Manage software releases,



production deployments and ongoing application support.
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across development and production environments.
Drive improvements in coding standards, development practices and CI/CD processes.
Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
Ensure solutions meet security, quality and organisational standards.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in candidates with:
Extensive experience insoftware engineering and enterprise application development.
Demonstrated experience leading software development projects or technical teams.
Strong hands‐on programming, software design and problem‐solving capabilities.
Experience designing complex applications, components and enterprise systems.
Solid understanding of software development methodologies, architecture and secure coding practices.
Experience with systems integration, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of release management, deployment processes and production support.
Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into practical software solutions.




Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.
Technical Skills That Will Make You Stand Out
Experience with one or more of the following technologies will be highly regarded:
SAP S/4HANA
SAP UI5 / Fiori
SAP ABAP
Angular
Node.js
Enterprise systems integration
CI/CD and deployment automation
Software architecture and system design
Automated testing frameworks
Previous experience withinAustralian Government agencies or large enterprise environmentswill also be highly regarded.
