As a Moment Maker Volunteer, you will provide companionship, connection and emotional support to older people through meaningful conversations, shared stories and quality time together.
By being present, listening and engaging in easy, yet heartfelt interactions, you will help enrich daily life, foster a sense of belonging and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation for older people.
Key responsibilities
Create meaningful connections with older people through relaxed conversations, shared stories and genuine presence
Offer companionship by spending one-on-one time with older people who may feel isolated or would simply enjoy company
Share simple, enjoyable moments together and encourage social interactions by making older people feel comfortable, included and valued
Personal skills and qualities
Reliability, consistency and commitment




Ability to build genuine connection with older people
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Time commitment
Whether you can offer one hour a week or fortnight, your time helps create moments that matter for older people
Days and time can be mutually agreeable
