We are currently seeking an experienced Projects Procurement Specialist to join a major mining operation, supporting the delivery of Sustaining Capital Projects on a 12-month contract.
This opportunity will suit a procurement and contracts professional with robust experience across both sourcing and post-award contract management within mining, construction or heavy industrial project environments.
The Opportunity Working on an 8/6 FIFO roster, you will support the successful delivery of sustaining capital projects by managing procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be responsible for sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation, administration and commercial support, ensuring project contracts are effectively managed from initial engagement through to completion.
The role will focus primarily on project-based contracts rather than ongoing operational procurement, working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and commercial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end procurement activities for sustaining capital projects.
Develop sourcing strategies and coordinate tendering processes for project works and services.
Prepare requests for quotation (RFQs), requests for tender (RFTs) and associated procurement documentation.
Evaluate supplier submissions and negotiate commercial terms and conditions.
Draft, review and negotiate project contracts and contract variations.
Manage post-award contract administration,



ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Provide commercial and contractual support throughout project execution.
Assess contractor claims, variations and commercial risks.
Monitor contractor performance, contract deliverables and commercial commitments.
Work closely with project managers, engineers and construction teams to support project delivery.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, procurement efficiencies and risk mitigation.
Maintain accurate contract records, procurement documentation and reporting.
Support contract close-out activities and final commercial reconciliations.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Proven experience in procurement and contract management within mining, resources, construction or major capital projects.
Strong experience across both pre-award sourcing and post-award contract management.
Demonstrated experience managing project-based contracts rather than solely operational or maintenance contracts.
Experience drafting, negotiating and administering contracts and variations.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and manage contractual risks.
Experience working with EPC/EPCM contractors, construction contractors and project delivery teams.
Sound understanding of procurement processes, tender evaluations and contract administration.
Excellent negotiation,



communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously.
Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce, Business, Engineering or a related discipline highly regarded.
