Garden Maintenance Specialist – Energy & Utilities Team
You'll be responsible for helping maintain grounds, gardens and vegetation across a variety of utility locations throughout North Queensland as part of our Ergon Energy and Powerlink maintenance contracts. This role offers variety, with work taking you from Mossman in the north through Cairns and down to Cardwell, with the potential to expand further into Townsville and surrounding regions. Travel is not excessive and varies depending on the monthly work schedule—some months there may be no overnight travel at all, while other months may involve approximately 4–8 days of travel across the entire month. Away-from-home allowances are paid when applicable. You will be required to undertake specialised training shortly after commencing employment to obtain the necessary credentials to work on these sites.
Key responsibilities
Perform a range of garden and grounds maintenance duties, including mowing, whipper snipping, brush cutting, hedging, mulching and general vegetation management
Operate gardening equipment, machinery and tools safely and effectively
Maintain grounds and vegetation around designated utility infrastructure and facilities
Follow site-specific safety requirements, procedures and instructions
Travel to regional maintenance sites as required
Work collaboratively with your team to complete scheduled maintenance efficiently and to a high standard
Maintain excellent workmanship, presentation and attention to detail
Communicate effectively with Lead Hands, Operations Managers and Administration Management
Take responsibility for equipment, vehicles and the quality of your work
Contribute positively to the continued growth and success of the Pinnacle team

Basic experience or familiarity with garden maintenance tools and equipment

A current driver's licence
