Norm Engineering Pty Ltd is looking for a qualified Metal Fabricators to join their team.The position is to be skilled in making and repairing all types of fabricated components and assemblies.
Proficient use of hand tools, oxy cutting tools and MIG welders to produce and repair fabricated components from mild steel and quench and tempered plate products.ResponsibilitiesInterpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.Determine the appropriate equipment or machinery to be usedSet up componentsShaping and fabricating parts.Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp piecesMIG Weld small and large components.Cut, mould and weld metal/steel to fix faults, and weld and bolt parts of the structure togetherUse hand tools, flame torches and other machinery to shape, cut and weld sections of metalAssess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat‐resistant gloves, protective masks,



and safety shoes.Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.Communicate with other production departments to organise componentsReport damages on machines and equipmentReport updates to drawings and procedures.Demonstrate the ability to perform physical/manual labouring tasks related to a Boilermaker in a safe manner.Follow directions given by ForemanQualificationRelevant experience as Fabricator/Boilermaker or qualifications for a similar roleAustralian Citizens & Permanent Residents onlyAbility to work in a rapid‐paced environmentAbility to read drawings, work to a time frame and complete tasks with a high‐end finishLogical and analytical thinkerExcellent problem‐solving skillsAbility to follow instructions and follow through on all tasks
