This role is suited to a skilled machinist who can work independently from drawing through to finished components, with the ability to program machines directly at the controller without relying on CAM support.Key responsibilitiesCNC machine setup and operationProgramming directly at the machine using Mazak, Okuma and Fanuc controlsSelecting appropriate tooling and machining strategiesReading drawings and determining the most productive machining processProving out programs and making necessary offsets and adjustmentsInspecting finished components to ensure they meet drawing specificationsWorking independently with minimal supervisionAbout youRecognized machinist qualifications and proven industry experienceStrong CNC machining experience and a solid understanding of machining practicesAbility to work unsupervised and manage jobs from start to finishProven ability to program directly at the machine without CAM assistanceExperience programming and operating Mazak, Okuma and Fanuc controllersAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsStrong knowledge of tooling, work holding, feeds and speeds, and machining techniquesAbility to set up, prove out and run CNC machines efficiently and accuratelyExcellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workA practical, problem-solving approach and the ability to work to deadlinesSome manual machining maybe required.Salary to be negotiated based on experience.
