Got the HVAC experience and ambition to become a Project Manager, but keep getting knocked back because you haven't done it before?

I'm recruiting for an established Melbourne mechanical contractor looking for someone who's driven, switched on and ready to take their career further.
You don't need to have been a Project Manager before, but you do need commercial HVAC experience gained in Australia.
You might be a mechanical plumber, a fridgie, mechanical engineer, estimator or drafter - what matters is that you're ambitious, confident with people and keen to take on more responsibility.
I've recruited people from mechanical trades, engineering and HVAC account management into this business over the years and they've all gone on to do really well.
None were experienced Project Managers when they started, but they had the drive, confidence and attitude to make a success of it.And the work is pretty interesting too.
We're talking hospitals, laboratories and technically demanding environments where compliance really matters.
There's also electrification work,



including replacing traditional boilers with heat pumps, alongside plenty of other commercial mechanical services projects.
You'll be based at their Keysborough office where you'll learn the ropes and get up to speed.
Once you're competent and confident in the role, you'll attend project sites as required.
Working with the Construction Manager, you'll get involved in planning, procurement, budgets, subcontractors and project delivery.
You'll also be dealing with builders, consultants and clients, some of whom won't always be easy.
That's why we're looking for someone who can hold their own, think on their feet and get things done without constantly being chased.
Someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems and has the drive to become a really valuable Project Manager.
You'll need good communication and organisational skills, confidence using Word and Excel, a Victorian driver's licence and a Construction Induction Card.
