About the role The Sir George Hotel is a beautifully restored heritage property in the historic village of Jugiong, known for its exceptional dining, boutique accommodation and relaxed country charm.
Our venue combines contemporary hospitality with old-world character, offering guests an unforgettable regional experience.We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team and contribute to our tradition of culinary excellence.
This is a full time, ongoing position based in Jugiong, NSW.
You will prepare, season and cook food in our dining establishment.
What you'll do Examine foodstuffs to ensure qualityRegulate the temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipmentPrepare and cook food, seasoning it during cookingPortion food, place it on plates and add gravies, sauces and garnishesStore food in temperature-controlled facilitiesPrepare food to meet special dietary requirementsPlan menus and estimate food requirements, where neededTrain other kitchen staff and apprentices,



where needed About you A high level of spoken and written English, so you can communicate effectively with staff, suppliers and customersMinimum 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environmentStrong knowledge of food preparation techniques and modern cooking methodsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentAttention to detail and a commitment to maintaining food quality and consistencyAn understanding of hygiene and food safety regulationsAbility to manage your time efficiently and work under pressure during busy service periods Qualifications AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; orAt least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualificationsAdditional on-the-job training or relevant culinary certifications may be required How to apply Apply through the form on this page.
