Master Complex Risk: Expand your technical scope beyond basic commercial packages into Industrial Special Risks (ISR), complex Business Pack, and broad Public Liability portfolios;
Build Direct Broker Authority: Deal directly with Queensland's leading insurance brokers.
Evaluate submissions, negotiate terms, and establish yourself as a key decision-maker in the QLD market;
Global Market Insight: Gain real-world insight into how international Lloyd's of London syndicates structure capacity alongside domestic Australian markets;
Your Impact
Underwriting & Portfolio Support: Evaluate, quote, and bind commercial new business and renewals across complex property lines within delegated authority guidelines;
Broker Servicing: Serve as a sharp, responsive, and commercially minded point of contact for key broking partners across Queensland;




Underwriting Integrity: Analyse risk quality, survey reports, and policy wordings to ensure balanced, profitable portfolio performance;
Collaborate: Provide high-level technical support to our broking and industry partners;
What You Bring
This position is ideal for an ambitious Commercial Underwriter or experienced Assistant Underwriter ready to enhance their technical capabilities and gain specialist skills:
Commercial Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience within Commercial Property or Commercial Lines underwriting;
Analytical Precision: Robust observational and analytical skills; you catch the details that others miss in broker submissions and policy wordings;
Systems & Data Aptitude: Comfortable navigating specialised underwriting engines, rating tools, and MS Office applications;
Regulatory Awareness: Solid grounding in the General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP), Privacy Act, and broad Australian market compliance frameworks;
Team First Approach: Collaborative, proactive, and driven by building strong market relationships, eager to expand the QLD commercial portfolio;
