Goldfields Machining is looking for a Manual Machinist to join our Boulder workshop. This role is based in our Boulder workshop (no site work), working on Manual Mills & Lathes to manufacture & repair drill rig components. Some days you are working on feed cradles & DPU’s other days you are making recent rod, glands and pistons for a hydraulic cylinder.

The Job

You will be in our Manual workshop using the lathes, mills, slotter & saws as required. You will be responsible for the overall operation of the machines, its productivity and the standard of work produced.
Setting up jobs
Reading detailed drawing and/or manufacture from samples
Use Precision Measuring Instruments
Be able to cut threads & tapers, use 4 jaw chucks, setup jobs in steadies and tailstocks
Work in close tolerances

You
will have a Trade Certificate in Machining
is practical and naturally positive with their hands
takes pride in getting things right
can work independently without needing someone constantly checking what you’re doing




is organised and can keep track of what needs to happen next
works well as part of a team and will pitch in when things get busy

The hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 4:30pm with extra hours available. Home every night, working in an airconditioned shed (perfect for summer coming)
Please note this is NOT a FIFO position it is residential in the Kalgoorlie Boulder region. Do not apply if you are not willing to move to Kalgoorlie Boulder.
