The Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, working between the Senior Manager – Finance & Business Systems and Finance Officers.
This role can be offered either on a fulltime or part-time basis (around 3 days/week).
The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, completing accounting and reconciliation activities, supporting month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and monitoring Support at Home funding and claims.
The Accountant will also provide guidance to the Finance Officers and assist with the implementation, transition and rollout of new finance and business systems.
During periods of Senior Manager leave, the Accountant will provide operational cover to ensure key finance activities and deadlines continue to be managed.Key responsibilitiesMaintain accurate general ledger and financial recordsComplete bank, balance sheet, payroll, AP and AR reconciliationsPrepare journals, accruals, prepayments and month-end adjustmentsAssist with monthly management and Board reportingAnalyse budget versus actual results and investigate significant variancesReview and process supplier and service provider invoicesMonitor client accounts, payments, contributions and outstanding balancesReconcile Support at Home funding, claims,



remittances and paymentsAssist with annual budget preparation and forecastingProvide operational cover during Senior Manager leave, including coordinating day-to-day Finance activities and monitoring key reporting, payment, reconciliation and claims deadlinesAbout youCPA or CA qualification or progress towards qualificationAged care or Support at Home experienceVisualCare, PRODA or similar claims system experienceExperience with finance/business system implementationExperience with data migration, system testing and staff trainingStrong knowledge of accounting, reconciliations and month-end processesExperience with AP, AR and payroll accountingStrong Excel and accounting system skillsExperience with Xero or similar accounting systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, positive communication and stakeholder management skillsAbout usGratis Home Care is an aged care organisation providing Support at Home services.
