About the role

An exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Allied health assistant to join our Allied Health Surf Therapy team in Albany, Western Australia. This OT/Physio/AHA position would involve providing service at the beach and in the community and you would be responsible for your own caseload. You would be working in a supportive setting, with a team of compassionate and caring health professionals who work collaboratively. We offer family camps in addition to our therapy programs.

Key responsibilities
Provide therapy services at the beach and in the community
Manage your own caseload in an effective and effective manner
Incorporate learning to surf within therapy intervention if meaningful to the client
Provide community-based supports including home and school visits
Work collaboratively within a trans-disciplinary team model

About you
Genuine interest and commitment to serving people
Compassionate and empathetic
Enthusiastic and willing to learn
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy or studying health science




Level 1 Surf coaching certificate or willingness to obtain
Surfing experience and confidence in ocean knowledge is required
Registration with AHPRA
Current driver's licence and willingness to drive within the region
WA Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
Current first aid and CPR certification, OSSCA or willingness to obtain
Experience working with children, young people and adults with disability is desirable
Willingness to work weekends
Willingness to work minimum 3 days per week with flexible hours during school term

Ability Surf is an cutting-edge Allied Health Surf Therapy School and leading edge Allied health and Surf Therapy. We are a team of Allied Health Professionals (OT, Physio's, AHA's) providing therapy to people with different abilities and a disability at the beach. We incorporate learning to surf within our therapy intervention if it is something meaningful to the client. We also provide community-based supports (home, school visits). We are an established service in Northern NSW, Sunshine Coast, QLD and Albany, WA.
