Kennedys is looking for an experienced Special Counsel to join our Sydney Liability team, working closely with Partners Chris Finn and Peter Craney.

Chris leads our Sydney Casualty practice, with a particular focus on casualty, property and professional liability claims, while Peter specialises in property, transport and speciality risks, including marine and aviation. Together, they lead an established and growing practice acting for domestic and international insurers.

You will work across casualty, public and product liability, property damage, general insurance and commercial litigation, with exposure to marine and aviation matters. You’ll manage complex and high-value matters, work directly with insurer clients, and mentor junior lawyers as part of an experienced and well-supported team.

What we're looking for

- Extensive experience in liability, casualty or general insurance litigation

- Strong litigation experience across State and Federal Courts

- Confidence managing complex matters autonomously

- A cooperative approach with an interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers





- Commercial acumen and a genuine interest in building long-term client relationships
