Forest Glen

Senior Physiotherapist – Neurological

Award-Winning Allied Health Clinic | Sunshine Coast

Full time | Permanent | Growth Role | Starting 5 January 2027

ABOUT US

The Parkinson's Centre® (The Park) is an award-winning allied-health clinic at Forest Glen on the Sunshine Coast, dedicated to Parkinson's and brain health. We are the region's first dedicated allied-health hub for people living with Parkinson's. The Park is a multi-award-winning clinic. We were named an AMP Foundation Tomorrow Maker in 2023, and in 2026 we shared the Healthy and Active award at the Sunshine Coast Australia Day Community Awards.

Our mission, Movement for Parkinson's, drives everything we do. Guided by our Parkinson's Alive® protocol, and through Step Out for Parkinson's®, The Parkinson's Conference, Sunshine Coast®, Partner Connect® and the Parkinson's Support Fund®, we are building something far bigger than a clinic.

Our treating team brings together physiotherapy, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics and remedial massage under one roof. We work in a coordinated way, with the client and their carer at the centre, and we liaise with neurologists, GPs, nurse navigators and community services to help each client build the support team they need.

We are responsible about outcomes. We are rigorous about standards. And yes, we have a lot of fun doing it!

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Senior Physiotherapist to provide expert clinical care to people living with Parkinson's and related neurological conditions. You will bring senior clinical judgement to a complex neurological caseload, working alongside a team that genuinely values expert input.

Due to continued growth, this is a newly created permanent role. This is a growth position, not a replacement role.

Expect:

• 1:1 neurological rehabilitation

• Neuro-active group classes (energy required)

• Strength and conditioning in our purpose-built gym with state-of-the-art equipment

• Falls prevention, gait and mobility training

• Musculoskeletal management within a neuro framework, when needed

WHAT YOUR WEEK MIGHT LOOK LIKE

• A detailed movement assessment in the morning

• A high-energy neuro class before lunch (music on, clients working hard)

• Strength programming in the gym

• A case discussion with the team

• Supporting a student through a placement session

• The chance to contribute to our growing research and development focus

If that energises you, keep reading.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comprehensive neurological and functional physiotherapy assessment and treatment

• Independently managing a complex caseload with senior clinical decision-making authority, including clients with falls risk, freezing of gait, fluctuating symptoms and changing needs over time

• Structured, progressive exercise programming, 1:1 and in groups

• Working closely with other physiotherapists, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, speech pathology and dietetics colleagues on shared care plans

• Communicating with neurologists, GPs and other external professionals, with client consent

• Providing occasional clinical supervision, mentoring and case review support for less experienced clinicians

• Occasional supervision of students on clinical placement

• Contributing to workshops and community education events

• Contributing to service development, clinical quality and evidence-informed practice

• Maintaining accurate, timely and compliant clinical documentation

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

• Degree in Physiotherapy and current general registration with AHPRA

• 5+ years' post-graduate clinical experience, including substantial neurological experience

• Confidence in strength programming and progressive exercise prescription

• Confidence managing complex clients independently and making sound clinical decisions

• Clear, professional and warm communication with clients, carers and the wider treating team

• Experience supervising or mentoring other clinicians or students

• Current National Police Check, First Aid and CPR certificates

• Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance in your own name (a requirement of The Parkinson's Centre)

• Australian working rights

Highly regarded:

• Experience working with people living with Parkinson's

• Training in Parkinson's-specific approaches such as PD Warrior or similar

• Postgraduate study in neurological physiotherapy

• Musculoskeletal skills to support clients with occasional MSK presentations (the role is predominantly neurological)

• Experience with aged care (Support at Home) and NDIS funding pathways

• Familiarity with practice-management software

You work independently but thrive in a high-performing team, and you enjoy building real rapport with clients without compromising professional standards.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Generous salary commensurate with your skills

• Performance bonus

• 17.5% annual leave loading

• Up to $2,000 CPD allowance per year

• Training in our Parkinson's Alive® protocol

• A defined, specialised neurological caseload

• Purpose-built gym and studio with state-of-the-art equipment

• A collaborative multidisciplinary team that shares care plans and reviews clients together

• Regular supervision and a supportive clinical leadership structure

• Involvement in flagship community events in Parkinson's care on the Sunshine Coast

• A team culture that values performance, accountability and a sense of humour

• A clinic in Forest Glen, close to the beaches and hinterland of the Sunshine Coast
