About Mitchell & Brown Communications

Mitchell & Brown Communications is a locally owned Western Australian Communications, Security and Fire Protection Systems provider operating across Geraldton, the Mid West and regional Western Australia. We install, commission and maintain telecommunications infrastructure, structured data cabling, fibre optic cabling, electronic security systems, CCTV, access control, fire detection and suppression systems to commercial, industrial, government and residential clients.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Security Technicians who are interested in joining our team in Geraldton.

About the Role

Your work may include:

- Installation, commissioning and maintenance of electronic security systems (including CCTV and IP video surveillance systems, intercoms, intruder detection, access control, and alarm systems)

- Installation, commissioning and maintenance of Nurse Call systems

- Programming and configuration of security equipment and field devices

- System upgrades, expansions and replacements

- Fault finding and diagnosis of electronic and network-connected security equipment

- Testing, commissioning and verification of completed installations

- Installation and termination of associated structured communications cabling

- Completing service reports, commissioning records and technical documentation

- Liaising professionally with customers, contractors and other trades

- Working across Geraldton, the Mid West and regional Western Australia

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, reliable and takes genuine pride in the quality of their work.

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:





- Security alarm systems (such as: Inner Range Integriti and Inception; Tecom; and, Bosch)

- IP cameras, NVRs and video management systems (such as Hikvision; Axis; and, Hanwha)

- IP networking

- Structured data cabling

- Fibre optic cabling

- Integrated security and communications projects

- Government, commercial, industrial, mining or infrastructure environments

- Working on remote and regional sites

Additional qualifications such as a Construction White Card, Working at Heights and EWP will also be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

- Hold a current and active WA Police Security Installer’s Licence

- Hold a current ACMA Open Cabling Registration

- Hold a current Australian driver's licence

- Have demonstrated experience with installing, commissioning, servicing and maintaining electronic security systems

- Have strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

- Have a sound understanding of structured cabling and communications infrastructure

- Be comfortable working with IP-based and network-connected security systems

- Be able to interpret plans, schematics and technical documentation

- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

- Be able to work independently and as part of a team

- Communicate professionally with customers,

Please note: Applicants who do not currently hold an active WA Police Security Installer’s Licence will not meet the mandatory requirements for this position.
