About the Role
We’re partnering with a well-established hotel in a beautiful and scenic remote beach location, part of a leading international hospitality group, to appoint a newly created HR Manager role. Because the role is new, you’ll have the chance to shape it from the ground up and make a real impact on how the hotel manages its people.
Working closely with the HR Director, you’ll take ownership of workforce analytics, labour cost management, rostering efficiency and employment compliance, helping the hotel make smarter, data-led decisions about its people. Your insights will directly influence how the hotel plans for, invests in and supports its teams.
The role also includes complimentary on-site accommodation and meals, so you can enjoy beachside living while keeping your day-to-day costs low. Our client is also open to visa sponsorship for the right candidate. If you’re an analytical HR professional who likes turning numbers into practical outcomes, and you’re ready for a career move as rewarding as the setting, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a labour cost monitoring framework, reporting on labour cost ratio, revenue per employee and departmental costs, and flagging anomalies in overtime, casual and agency spend
- Support annual and monthly headcount planning and budgeting, factoring in seasonal demand and recommending improvements to staffing structures
- Review and optimise rostering across departments to better align with demand, reduce over-rostering and lift labour utilisation without compromising service
- Strengthen time and attendance processes and conduct regular audits of attendance and payroll data to ensure accuracy and minimise compliance risk
- Ensure HR practices comply with the Fair Work Act 2009, the NES and the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020, including rostering rules, penalty rates and record-keeping
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards for hotel leadership and Group head office on labour cost, productivity, turnover and rostering efficiency, and provide data-driven insights to department heads
- Partner with head office on workforce matters and HR projects, translating Group requirements into practical actions on site
About You
- Previous HR or hotel operations experience
- Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian employment compliance, with Hospitality Award experience considered a solid advantage
- Proven analytical capability across labour cost, workforce productivity and roster optimisation, with the ability to build models independently and turn insights into practical recommendations
- Professional fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to support regular reporting to Group head office
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-cultural communication skills
- Comfortable with, and ideally excited by, living and working at a remote beach location and embracing the lifestyle that comes with it
What’s on Offer
- Complimentary on-site accommodation and meals
- Visa sponsorship available for the right candidate
- The chance to grow your career within a respected international hospitality group
- A unique lifestyle living and working in a beautiful, scenic beachside setting
