About the company
Our client is a family-owned Queensland builder that has worked in commercial construction for more than 50 years. Their construction division is made up entirely of project management professionals. They deliver commercial projects from $20M to $170M across education, aged care, industrial and government work. Most of their clients come back for more work. They hire people for long careers, not for one project, and many of their staff have been with them for more than a decade.

The role
You’ll be the Project Manager for a new state school project in Gracemere, near Rockhampton. It uses large-scale modular construction. Building starts around February–March 2027 and is planned to finish in October 2027. You’ll run the project from pre-construction through to handover, leading the site team and acting as the main contact for the client, consultants and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver the project safely, on time, on budget and to the required quality
- Manage the programme, cost reporting, cash flow and forecasting
- Manage the head contract, variations, extensions of time and progress claims
- Procure, engage and manage subcontractors
- Lead, mentor and develop the site and project team
- Build strong relationships with the client, consultants and the local community
- Uphold strong WHS and quality standards across the site




- Hand the project over smoothly at practical completion

About you

- Experience as a Project Manager delivering $50M–$100M commercial construction projects for a head contractor
- Experience in education, government, aged care or similar commercial work (modular construction experience is highly regarded)
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
- Strong knowledge of commercial contracts and of managing a project’s money
- A secure career history: our client is looking for someone who wants to stay for the long term
- A Construction White Card and a current driver’s licence
