About the Role

The Heritage Hotel is seeking an experienced and motivated Hotel Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy hospitality venue in Rockhampton.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong organisational skills, operational knowledge and the ability to manage multiple areas of the business, including accommodation, food and beverage, gaming, functions and entertainment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high operational standards, leading and developing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of the venue.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily hotel operations, including accommodation, bar, restaurant, gaming and entertainment facilities.

- Manage, supervise and support staff across multiple departments, including recruitment, training, rostering and performance management.

- Coordinate accommodation bookings, guest services, functions and special events.

- Monitor operational budgets, revenue, expenditure, stock control and financial performance.

- Ensure compliance with Queensland liquor licensing, gaming, workplace health and safety, food safety and other relevant regulations.

- Maintain high standards of customer service, resolve guest enquiries and complaints, and ensure a positive guest experience.

- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and service providers to maintain productive business operations.

- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve service standards, productivity and profitability.

- Assist with marketing initiatives,



promotions and business development opportunities.

- Report to senior management on operational performance, staffing requirements and business improvements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous management experience within a hotel, pub or similar hospitality environment.

- Strong leadership, communication and team management skills.

- Sound understanding of accommodation, food and beverage, gaming and entertainment operations.

- Experience with budgeting, stock management, rostering and operational planning.

- Knowledge of Queensland hospitality regulations and compliance requirements.

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

- Relevant hospitality qualifications and current RSA, RSG and RMLV certifications, or the ability to obtain them.
