- Turn big ideas and business priorities into clear requirements for a national health platform
- Be part of a purpose-driven team helping all Australians get the care they need
- Enjoy hybrid working from our Haymarket office, a short walk from Central station
About us
At Healthdirect Australia, we help Australians access trusted health information, advice and care through our national virtual health services.
About the opportunity
Every day, Australians turn to us for trusted health advice and care. Behind those services is a lot of careful thinking, and that's where you come in.
As our Business Analyst, you'll work side by side with technical teams and business operations to turn what the business needs into requirements that can be built. When there are plenty of voices and viewpoints in the room, you'll be the one who brings clarity and helps everyone focus on what matters most.
This role suits someone who enjoys a busy, varied environment, working with government, multiple vendors, and internal and external teams, often to tight timelines. Healthcare experience is a bonus, but if your background is elsewhere and you're curious about this space, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Partner with stakeholders to elicit, analyse and translate business needs into clear, well-defined requirements
- Produce high-quality documentation, including business rules, process models, wireframes, functional requirements, and integration and API data analysis
- Facilitate workshops, discovery and review sessions to build alignment and drive timely decisions
- Manage requirements, acceptance criteria and change controls to maintain transparency and minimise delivery risk
- Select and apply fit-for-purpose tools and techniques to support each initiative
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and partners through open and transparent communication
- Contribute to the continued maturity of our business analysis practice by sharing insights and improving ways of working
About You
You are an experienced Business Analyst with a strong analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail. You are skilled at asking the right questions early, identifying underlying needs before they become delivery risks. You bring a disciplined, outcomes-focused approach to managing competing priorities, and you remain composed and effective in quick-paced environments.
What you'll bring to the role
- Preferred: healthcare and government experience, and either delivering complex online tools with third-party integrations (like a symptom checker) or contact centre experience across telephony, CRM and integrations (especially Microsoft Dynamics CRM)
- 5+ years of business analysis experience,
including rapid deployments
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder and teamwork skills
- Solid knowledge across the IIBA business analysis knowledge areas
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence, and with agile delivery
- Comfort working in complex, matrixed environments
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, business or commerce, or equivalent experience
