Join a major resources project at Rio Tinto Aluminium – Amrun (Boyd Point, QLD) as a Completion Engineer, supporting safe and efficient delivery of sustaining capital / project works. This is a contract opportunity (forecast start January 2027) with an expected duration of 12+ months, where you’ll work closely with site leadership and stakeholders to drive completion readiness, handover quality, and schedule certainty in a high-performing mining environment.

- Brisbane based with occasional travel to site in Weipa as required.
- Support rollout of the Smart Completions System for construction and commissioning
- Build/maintain completion processes and system setup to match project QA requirements
- Coach and support contractor owners’ team to follow completion/QA requirements
- Work closely with engineering stakeholders (incl. tailings / dam engineering team)
- Complete site inspections to verify completion/QA evidence is in place
- Track and report KPIs / production metrics across project areas
- Ensure readiness for safe transition from construction to commissioning and handover

About you

- Engineering degree or strong QA/completions system implementation experience
- 5+ years in quality systems / completions in mining or heavy industry




- Construction + commissioning exposure (delivery through to completion/handover)
- Strong contractor coordination and stakeholder engagement
- High attention to detail (plans, specs, QA documentation)
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and time management
- Transparent written and verbal communication; able to influence and coach teams
- Expected start in Jan 2027
- Tailings / civil earthworks / dam build project exposure
- Experience with Smart Completions (or similar digital completions/QA platforms)
