This is a fantastic opportunity for an established or mid-career journalist to build multimedia reporting, writing, editing and presenting experience while covering arguably the biggest story in Australian business: the rise and rise of institutional investors, especially superannuation funds.

Working primarily for Investment Magazine, the leading title covering super and institutional investment in Australia, the role involves researching, writing and producing news, assisting with features, and helping cover developments relevant to our readers, while contributing to our growing suite of broadcast and audio-visual media and live events.

Prior experience as a journalist, news reporter or communications professional is essential. Knowledge of financial markets, investment management, politics/policy and/or economics is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Research, produce and write content multi-media content for Investment Magazine

- Contribute content as required to other Conexus Financial publications, including Professional Planner, Retirement Magazine and Top1000Funds.com

- Support the editorial team in producing content for weekly EDMs and other publishing schedules

- Assist with coverage and hosting of Conexus Financial events





- Help source and pitch story ideas to editors

- Maintain compliance with style standards

- Develop and maintain skilled network of financial industry leaders and practitioners

- Assist with compiling content from industry sources, media releases and other inputs

- Support EDM production using WordPress, Marketing Cloud and/or Salesforce as required

- Actively use social media within Company guidelines to broaden the audience and reach of published content

- Represent the editorial brand professionally at industry events

- Integrate editorial workflow with AI efficiencies and enhancements, while complying with professional ethics.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in journalism, media & communications, or a related field are preferred but not essential. This role is well suited to a specialist financial journalist eager to move to a premium market-leading publication, or an experienced business, politics or general news reporter eager to develop an important beat with national policy and economic significance.

NB: This role operates on a default 5 days in office basis from our Sydney headquarters.
