Pasta Buoy, located in Huskisson NSW 2540, specialises in freshly made pasta and Italian-inspired dishes, with a focus on quality ingredients and consistent food preparation.
The restaurant is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Cook for a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting pasta dishes and other menu items in accordance with established recipes, quality standards and food safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing, cooking and presenting pasta dishes and other menu items according to established recipes and specifications.
- Preparing ingredients, sauces and accompaniments for daily food service.
- Measuring, cutting and portioning ingredients to ensure consistency and minimise waste.
- Operating cooking equipment and applying appropriate cooking techniques.
- Monitoring food quality, cooking times, temperatures and presentation standards.
- Checking ingredients for freshness, quality and suitability before preparation.
- Maintaining appropriate food storage, stock rotation and inventory procedures.
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils and food preparation areas.




- Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Coordinating food preparation with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service.

About You

- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Experience preparing pasta dishes, sauces and Italian-inspired cuisine.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities during busy service periods.
- Positive communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Attention to detail, reliability and commitment to quality workmanship.
