We are seeking an experienced and organised Hire Manager to oversee vehicle hire operations, coordinate fleet availability and ensure the efficient delivery of hire services to our customers.

About the Role

The Hire Manager will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of Waru's vehicle hire business, ensuring vehicles are available, maintained, allocated and delivered in accordance with customer requirements.

Your daily tasks will include:

- Oversee the daily operations of the vehicle hire department and make sure customers receive reliable and timely service.
- Oversee vehicle bookings, hire extensions and returns, ensuring arrangements are organised and processed accurately.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with customers, suppliers and other business partners.
- Guide and support team members in their daily work, helping them develop their skills and maintain sound service standards.
- Oversee vehicle availability and allocation to ensure the right vehicles are ready when customers need them.




- Keep track of fleet availability and arrange servicing or repairs when needed to minimise disruptions to hire operations.
- Oversee hire agreements, invoices, vehicle records and other relevant documents are properly maintained.
- Manage complaints with a solution focus - resolve booking issues, vehicle availability concerns and customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Look for practical ways to improve daily operations, make better use of the fleet and provide a better experience for customers.
- A strong focus on safety, reliable service and keeping vehicles in good condition.

Skillset Required

- At least 2-3 years + of experience in vehicle hire, transport or logistics.
- Experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Valuable communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work well with others.
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team when needed.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage bookings, vehicle allocations and daily tasks.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations is an advantage.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and willing to learn hire management systems.
- Drivers license is required
