The Lakes Hotel is a waterfront hospitality destination in Adelaide’s West Lakes, offering accommodation, restaurants, bars and facilities for conferences, weddings and private celebrations. As part of Oscars Group, the hotel combines a diverse range of guest experiences within one property.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Hotel Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our teams and maintain high standards across the property. This hands-on role requires strong operational leadership, attention to guest satisfaction and the ability to manage business performance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan, organise and oversee daily hotel operations across accommodation, food and beverage, and functions.
- Coordinate front office, reservations, housekeeping, hospitality and maintenance teams to ensure consistent service.
- Oversee the guest experience, including reservations, arrivals, departures and the timely resolution of enquiries and concerns.
- Recruit, induct, train and develop employees, providing clear direction and managing performance.
- Prepare and review rosters, staffing levels and labour costs to meet operational requirements.
- Manage budgets and monitor revenue, operating expenses and profitability.
- Review room occupancy, bookings and sales performance, identifying opportunities to improve revenue and guest retention.
- Coordinate with kitchen and events teams to deliver conferences, weddings, group bookings and other functions.
- Oversee purchasing, stock control and supplier relationships, maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
- Maintain effective cash-handling procedures, payment controls and operational reporting.
- Ensure hotel presentation,



cleanliness, equipment and facilities meet required standards.
- Coordinate maintenance, property inspections and responses to operational or safety issues.
- Maintain compliance with relevant liquor licensing, food safety, workplace safety and other operating requirements.
- Review customer feedback and implement practical improvements to service and operations.
- Work with senior management on promotions, business development and the implementation of group policies and standards.

About You

- Demonstrated experience as a Hotel Manager or in a comparable senior hotel operations role.
- Experience overseeing accommodation and food and beverage operations, with functions experience highly regarded.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage teams across multiple departments.
- Sound financial knowledge, including budgeting, labour management, purchasing and cost control.
- Excellent guest-service, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence using property management, reservation, POS and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of relevant licensing, food safety and workplace safety requirements.
- Relevant RSA certification and any additional training required for the position.
- Flexibility to work a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- A relevant qualification in hospitality, hotel management or business is preferred.
