About the company
Our client is a family-owned Queensland builder that has worked in commercial construction for more than 50 years. Their construction division is made up entirely of project management professionals. They have offices in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Townsville and Newcastle, and deliver commercial projects from $20M to $170M across education, aged care, industrial and government work. Most of their clients come back for more work. They hire people for long careers, not for one project.

The role
This is a permanent Project Manager role in our client’s Townsville team, leading commercial projects across North Queensland. You’ll run each project from pre-construction through to handover, lead the site team, and look after relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver projects safely, on time, on budget and to the required quality
- Manage programmes, cost reporting, cash flow and forecasting
- Manage head contracts, variations, extensions of time and progress claims
- Procure, engage and manage subcontractors
- Lead, mentor and develop project and site teams
- Work with the estimating team at tender handover
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and the local community
- Uphold strong WHS and quality standards across all sites





About you

- Experience as a Project Manager delivering $50M–$100M commercial construction projects for a head contractor
- Experience in education, aged care, industrial, government or similar commercial work
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
- Robust knowledge of commercial contracts and of managing a project’s money
- A stable career history: our client is looking for someone who wants to stay for the long term
- A Construction White Card and a current driver’s licence
