About the position

The Trade Counter Sales position is the face of Spicers Yatala, responsible for delivering exceptional service to walk-in customers, managing customer pickups, supporting sales growth, and ensuring the branch operates efficiently. The role combines trade counter sales, customer service, warehouse support, and proactive business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Trade Counter Operations

- Deliver exceptional customer service at the trade counter, assisting with enquiries, orders, quotations, product recommendations, and issue resolution.

- Manage customer pickups and ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.

Sales & Customer Growth

- Identify opportunities to increase sales, re-engage inactive customers, conduct outbound customer calls, and generate leads for the sales team.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and local trade partners.

Branch & Warehouse Support

- Support daily branch operations, including stock management, warehouse activities, housekeeping, and maintaining a safe and professional workplace.

- Assist with receiving, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock control activities as required.

Administration & Team Collaboration





- Accurately process sales orders, maintain customer records, support branch reporting and administration, and assist with promotional activities.

- Work closely with customer service, sales, and warehouse teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Experience in trade counter, customer service, internal sales, or wholesale distribution

- Strong customer relationship skills

- Confident using ERP systems and Microsoft Office

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable

- Experience within the print, packaging or a related trade environment

- Forklift licence

- Internal sales or account management experience

- Warehouse and inventory management exposure

The successful candidate will be:

- Customer focused and commercially minded

- Happy to work across sales, service, and warehouse activities

- Proactive in identifying sales opportunities

- Comfortable dealing with tradespeople, printers, sign makers, and business customers

- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a smaller branch environment

- Practical, hands-on, and willing to assist wherever required
