Our Creative team are currently looking for a Creative Pastor to join the team at our Sydney – Hills location. This role will be responsible for building and leading a thriving volunteer culture across Hills Creative under the direction of the Hills Campus Creative Pastor — onboarding new volunteers well, developing their gifting through clear training pathways, and raising up the next generation of volunteer leaders. This role gives pastoral care and spiritual leadership to creative volunteers, so they grow in faith, belong to community, and are equipped to serve with excellence.

Other aspects of this role include:

Volunteer Onboarding & Integration

- Oversee the onboarding journey for new volunteers across Hills Creative, from application through to active team involvement.
- Ensure new volunteers feel welcomed, connected, informed and equipped.
- Work alongside team leaders to place volunteers into teams and development environments suited to their gifting.
- Maintain healthy communication and follow-up with prospective and newly onboarded volunteers.

Training & Leadership Development

- Partner with staff and volunteer team leaders to identify training and development needs across all creative teams.
- Coordinate and facilitate training nights, workshops, masterclasses and development opportunities throughout the year.
- Develop training resources and clear progression pathways for volunteers and emerging leaders.
- Identify emerging leaders across Hills Creative and equip them to lead teams and individuals well.
- Support team-specific development across platform, production, photography, video,



youth creative and other creative ministries.

Pastoral Care & Community

- Provide pastoral care and spiritual leadership to creative volunteers.
- Foster a healthy, faith-filled and connected culture across Hills Creative.
- Support staff and volunteer leaders to care well for the volunteers in their teams.
- Facilitate meaningful community and connection opportunities throughout the year.
- Create environments that support spiritual growth, discipleship and a strong sense of belonging.

Volunteer Systems & Administration

- Maintain accurate volunteer records, team lists and onboarding data.
- Track and monitor Working With Children Check, Safe Church training and Code of Conduct compliance across creative volunteer teams, escalating gaps as required.
- Support rostering and scheduling processes in partnership with team leaders.
- Provide reporting on volunteer numbers, onboarding progress and development participation to the Campus Creative Pastor.

Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:

- Formal theological, ministry, leadership, or pastoral studies qualifications are desirable, or an equivalent combination of ministry experience and leadership development expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry, volunteer leadership, team development, or a related church ministry leadership role.
- Proven ability to recruit, onboard, train, and develop volunteers and emerging leaders within a ministry or community-focused environment.
- Experience facilitating leadership development programs, training initiatives, workshops, or discipleship pathways.
- Solid understanding of pastoral care, discipleship, and building healthy team culture within a church context.
- A current Working With Children Check is required for this position and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
