The Organisation:
This prominent global mining company is currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to support its corporate head office in Brisbane. This role offers the opportunity to join a global mining organisation with high-performing operations and a strong reputation for investing in the development and progression of its people.

The Position:
Reporting to the General Manager of Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and continuous improvement of the organisation's financial reporting function. Responsibilities will include:

- Leading month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
- Managing financial accounting, statutory reporting and compliance activities
- Assessing leasing arrangements and maintaining accounting under AASB16.
- Assessing lease arrangements and maintaining accounting under AASB 16.
- Reviewing revenue recognition under AASB 15, including contractual terms and recognition timing.
- Preparing and reviewing rehabilitation provisions under AASB 137, including key assumptions, discounting and movements.




- Preparing technical accounting papers and supporting financial statement disclosures and external audit requirements.
- Driving system enhancements, process improvements and reporting automation initiatives
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis and providing insights to support effective decision-making

With strong support from senior leadership, you will be empowered to identify and implement process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, automation and reporting quality across the finance function.

Your Profile:
To be successful in this position, you will ideally demonstrate:

- Audit exposure within a Bi4 workplace would be highly regarded. This could be a good first-mover opportunity
- CA or CPA
- The ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
- Experience working in listed corporate or complex organisations, ideally within resources will be helpful
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
