Youth Worker | Noosa Flexible School

Position details: Youth Worker Continuing, Full-time (1.0 FTE) Sunshine Beach, Queensland Commencing: January 2027

Relationships matter. Every young person matters. And education can look different. At Noosa Flexible School, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to feel safe, connected and successful in their education. We work with young people who have experienced challenges in traditional schooling, creating opportunities for learning through relationships, flexibility, practical experiences and a genuine commitment to meeting young people where they're at. We're looking for a Youth Worker who understands that sometimes the most important part of education happens outside a traditional classroom.

What makes this role different? One day you might be supporting a young person in the classroom, the next facilitating a wellbeing activity, helping deliver an outdoor learning experience or working alongside colleagues to help a young person navigate a challenging situation. No two days are the same, and relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

We're looking for someone who:

- Genuinely enjoys working with young people.
- Builds relationships through consistency, patience, humour and respect.
- Understands that behaviour is complex and meaningful engagement takes time.
- Can work collaboratively while bringing initiative and creativity to their practice.
- Is adaptable, reflective and willing to learn.
- Believes all young people have strengths, potential and something valuable to contribute.

What you'll find at Noosa Flexible School

You’ll join a passionate, multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, reflective practice and doing things differently when traditional approaches aren't working. Our work is grounded in trauma‑informed practice, Common Ground and our principles of Respect, Participation, Honesty, and Safe & Legal. We value staff who bring their personalities, strengths and creativity into their work, while maintaining professional boundaries and a shared commitment to the wellbeing and education of our young people.

At Edmund Rice Education Australia Flexible Schools Ltd we believe in creating an environment where you can thrive and reach your full potential.

Are you seeking a rewarding career that provides a sense of wellbeing, growth and fulfillment? We are committed to ensuring the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and young people.
