Senior Snowflake Platform Engineers x4 | Big 4 Australian Bank
We’re looking for four senior, hands‑on Snowflake specialists to build and run an enterprise-scale Snowflake platform for one of Australia’s largest financial services brands.

This isn’t a SQL, reporting or ETL development role.

The bank needs platform engineers who have personally built, secured, automated and operated Snowflake in large, regulated environments, and who can do it again from the ground up.

You’ll be a core part of the team that:

- Designs the platform foundations and architecture
- Implements governance, security and access controls to banking standards
- Automates deployments and infrastructure through CI/CD and infrastructure as code
- Sets up the operational processes, monitoring and support model
- Gets the platform ready for enterprise-scale data workloads

You must have hands‑on experience establishing and operationalising the Snowflake platform itself—from initial architecture and configuration through security, automation and production readiness.

Experience limited to developing data pipelines, models or analytics solutions on an existing Snowflake platform will not meet this requirement.

Initial 3-month contract with the option to extend

This role combines platform administration, infrastructure automation and operational troubleshooting, with opportunities to contribute to data‑platform modernisation.

- You must have hands‑on experience establishing and operationalising the Snowflake platform itself—from initial architecture and configuration through security, automation and production readiness.

- Manage users, roles, role‑based access control (RBAC) and service accounts.
- Maintain platform security and monitor resource usage.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and environment deployments.
- Monitor platform health, provide operational support and troubleshoot issues.
- Support infrastructure automation and legacy data‑platform modernisation.

What you’ll bring

- Banking or financial‑services experience—essential.
- Experience working within a large, regulated enterprise .
- Hands‑on Snowflake administration and configuration expertise.
- Solid enterprise cloud experience, including AWS .
- Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code .
- Practical experience with dbt and Snowpark/Python .
- Experience with Teradata or legacy data‑platform modernisation .
- Relevant Snowflake certifications .
