About the role

Looksmart Alterations Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead our retail operations in Joondalup, WA. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to manage a energetic retail environment where customer service excellence and operational efficiency are paramount. As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing staff, and ensuring our customers receive exceptional service across all aspects of their experience with us. Key responsibilities

- Oversee daily retail operations, ensuring smooth functioning of the store and adherence to company policies and procedures

- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of retail assistants, providing coaching, training, and performance management

- Achieve and exceed sales targets whilst maintaining profitability and controlling costs

- Deliver exceptional customer service standards and resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly

- Manage inventory levels, stock rotation, and merchandise presentation to maximise sales opportunities

- Conduct regular staff briefings, monitor performance metrics, and implement improvements to enhance productivity

- Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure the retail environment is clean, welcoming, and well-organised

- Handle cash management, reconciliation, and financial reporting responsibilities

- Liaise with head office on operational matters, reporting progress against key performance indicators

- Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members as required

What we're looking for





- Proven experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar supervisory role within a retail environment.

- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to achieve sales and customer service targets.

- Strong understanding of retail operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and financial reporting.

- A background or basic knowledge of fashion, clothing, or retail design is highly desirable, with an understanding of current fashion trends, garment styles, fabrics, and customer preferences.

- Basic sewing skills or previous experience in clothing alterations and tailoring would be highly advantageous. Candidates with an understanding of garment construction, fitting, and alteration techniques will be preferred.

- Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to deliver positive customer experiences.

- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and retail management software.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

- Numeracy skills and experience with financial management and budget control.

- Ability to manage staff rosters, monitor productivity, and maintain operational standards.

- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays as required.

- Relevant qualifications or certifications in retail management, fashion, clothing design, or a related field would be advantageous.

Experience in sewing, garment alterations, or tailoring will be considered a significant advantage, as this role requires an understanding of both the retail and technical aspects of the alterations industry.
