Description

We are seeking a reliable, hard-working Demolition Labourer to join our residential demolition team. The primary focus of this role is to assist with the protected teardown of residential properties, specifically focusing on structural sorting, material salvage, and site remediation. You will be responsible for manually and mechanically sorting debris into designated recycling, salvage, and waste piles to maximize site sustainability and safety. Key Responsibilities & Tasks Material Sorting:Efficiently sort demolished house materials into distinct piles (e.g., concrete/masonry, scrap metal, clean timber, green waste, and general refuse). Salvage Recovery: Identify and carefully extract high-value salvage materials such as hardwood beams, antique bricks, architectural fixtures, and recyclable metals prior to and during structural demolition. Site Cleanup & Hazard Management: Maintain a clean, organized,



and safe work environment by clearing debris, sweeping staging areas, and managing dust suppression. Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), site safety plans, and standard PPE protocols. Assist in identifying and reporting site hazards (including suspected hazardous materials like asbestos). Tool Operation: Safely operate hand and power tools (e.g., sledgehammers, crowbars, grinders, and reciprocating saws). Wheelbarrowing and heavy lifting are required. Team Collaboration: Assist machine operators (excavators/skid-steers) by spotter-guiding, clearing tracks, and manually staging materials for machine sorting.
