Lead substantial land development projects within a first-tier consultancy, supported by a stable team that takes pride in its work.

This Canberra opportunity suits a Senior Civil Engineer who enjoys staying close to design while taking greater responsibility for projects, people and client relationships.

Projects with scale and variety

Work across land development and subdivision projects ranging from approximately 200 to 5,000 lots. The breadth of work will give you opportunities to apply your technical judgement, coordinate complex requirements and influence outcomes from design through to delivery.

You’ll contribute across roads, earthworks, stormwater drainage and associated civil infrastructure, balancing design quality with practical construction and commercial requirements.

Your role

- Lead civil design and coordinate the delivery of subdivision projects.
- Maintain a hands-on contribution using 12D, MUSIC, DRAINS and other relevant design packages.
- Guide engineers and designers, providing clear direction and constructive technical reviews.
- Build strong client relationships through sound advice, clear communication and reliable delivery.
- Coordinate with authorities,



consultants and project stakeholders to resolve issues and keep work progressing.
- Take ownership of quality, ensuring final designs are coordinated, practical and completed to a high standard.

The experience you’ll bring

- You’re an established Senior Civil Engineer with land development experience, ideally gained within a recognised engineering consultancy.
- You combine robust technical capability with the confidence to lead a team, manage client expectations and address problems early. You’re comfortable questioning a design, recommending improvements and following through to achieve the best project outcome.
- Experience with 12D, MUSIC and DRAINS is highly regarded, alongside familiarity with SpaceGass and other relevant engineering software.
