About the Role

Join Forensicare as a Senior Occupational Therapist and play a critical role in delivering advanced occupational therapy services within Victoria’s specialist forensic mental health service. This parental leave cover opportunity is based at Thomas Embling Hospital, where you will support consumers with complex mental health needs to achieve meaningful engagement in daily life, improve functional independence and progress towards successful community reintegration. As a senior clinician, you will provide expert assessment and intervention, contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and provide leadership, supervision and support to junior staff within a multidisciplinary environment.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:

- Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions that support recovery and independence.
- Facilitate individual and group programs that build skills and community readiness.
- Provide supervision and mentoring to junior clinicians and students.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support consumer outcomes.
- Drive quality improvement and service development initiatives

What you need:





- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.
- Extensive experience in mental health or forensic settings
- Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
- Demonstrated leadership and supervision experience
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and systemic advocacy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

- Influenza and Immunisation Evidence
- This position is subject to a Police Check
