Omnicom Oceania is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Melbourne or Sydney.Prior experience and Qualifications required to succeed in this role:Experience: At least 5 years’ experience as a legal counsel either in a law firm or in an in house corporate environmentEducation: Tertiary qualifications in LawAdmission: Current Practising Certificate (or entitled to a Practicing Certificate) in an Australian stateSkills:Proven track record in working with senior leadership teams in delivering across your portfolio including building trust and relationships effortlessly across all levels of an organisationStrong written and analytical skills including reviewing documents and the proven ability to deliver high quality, commercial and timely legal adviceExperience in project management and implementing projects, including continuous and detailed reporting to stakeholdersSelf-initiative and a demonstrated high attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research toolsAbility to work autonomously and in a team environmentThrive on managing competing priorities in a fast-paced setting, and on developing strong relationships with all employees across Omnicom Oceania Pty LtdReporting Structure You will report to the General Counsel Omnicom Oceania Pty Ltd located in Sydney, NSW, AustraliaScope Entire Omnicom Oceania business (Omnicom Advertising and Omnicom Media) across Australia and New ZealandSummary of Position & Core Responsibilities Contract Management - draft, review and negotiate commercial legal agreements across the Omnicom Oceania businessAdvisory - provide timely, accurate and commercially pragmatic legal advice to all aspects of the Omnicom Oceania businessGovernance and Compliance - together with the General Counsel,



identify and develop legal risks, build compliance programmes and ensure the wider Omnicom Oceania business operates within agreed templates and legal processesData Privacy and governance - develop expertise in this area of the law including security, data handling and general privacy knowledge to facilitate business decisions and respond to client and vendor queriesMaintain and organize legal records and databasesProvide support to the General Counsel as neededAssist in the preparation of briefs, contracts, and other legal documentsWork on OO Projects, with a special emphasis on data and privacy related deliverablesYou are required to focus on the following areas of competency:Prioritising legal advice and continuous educationDraft legal documents with a commercial view and pragmatic approachConfidently provide legal advice (formal and ad hoc) across the entire Omnicom Oceania business to all levels move the groupManage projects including data collection and privacy and develop a strong interest in this area so as to be able to advise Omnicom Oceania groups without reference to the General CounselWork with the General Counsel, Omnicom Security and data teams and the Finance team on document preparation, collation and management, including client agreements, templates and reporting (eg: government authorities)Show an appetite for alterative legal advice modelsValues High commitment to ethics and fairnessPersonal growth Ensure you live Omnicom Oceania and respective Brand valuesDiarise regular growth plan catch ups with the General CounselAttend all relevant Learning & Development sessionsKeep up to date on current legal, data & privacy issuesMake a contribution to Omnicom Oceania beyond those listed in this Position DescriptionAttend Brand Health and Wellbeing sessions#J-18808-Ljbffr
