About the role

J's Kitchen Steak House is a busy bistro-style restaurant in Berala. We serve a wide range of Australian-style bistro meals, including steaks, grilled meats, chicken schnitzels, seafood, pasta, burgers and other popular dishes. We are looking for an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The salary is $80,000 - $82,000 plus superannuation.

What you'll do

- Prepare and cook a variety of bistro-style dishes in line with established recipes and menu standards
- Prepare meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other ingredients for daily service
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers and ovens
- Complete daily food preparation and mise en place for lunch and dinner services
- Monitor cooking times, temperatures, portion sizes and presentation to keep food quality consistent
- Coordinate multiple orders during busy service periods




- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients, and ensure appropriate food storage and stock rotation
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
- Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
- Work effectively with other kitchen staff to keep kitchen operations running efficiently

About you
- A relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Experience preparing and cooking a range of bistro-style dishes
- Positive knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
