Austeel Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team. We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual with solid technical skills in metal fabrication, welding, and the assembly of metal structures and components.

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, fabricating metal products, and ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Study and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and fabrication plans to determine job requirements.
- Select, measure, mark, cut, and shape metal materials according to specifications.
- Set up and operate metalworking machinery, including cutting, bending, rolling, drilling, and shaping equipment.
- Fabricate and assemble metal components and structural frameworks using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, and other suitable welding processes.
- Align and fit fabricated metal components using measuring instruments and precision tools.
- Join metal sections using welding, bolting, and riveting techniques.
- Inspect completed fabrication work to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Repair, modify, and maintain metal structures and fabricated components as required.
- Maintain fabrication equipment and ensure tools and machinery are operated safely.




- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other tradespeople to complete fabrication projects within required timeframes.

Qualifications and Experience

- AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Relevant overseas trade qualifications will also be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in metal cutting, shaping, welding, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Competency in using fabrication machinery, hand tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
