Role: Business Analyst

Duration: Permanent

Location: Canberra An experienced government Business Analyst who knows Home Affairs visa and citizenship systems, can manage vendor delivery, and turns business needs into working solutions.

And who knows Home Affairs and can work between the business and an external vendor.

- Experienced, with around 15+ years in digital transformation
- Learns complex environments quickly and works with little supervision
- Works well with people and can link business, technical and vendor teams
- Focused on users and outcomes
- Uses data to make decisions

Must-have experience

- Australian Government: has delivered programs inside agencies, ideally Home Affairs
- Visa and citizenship knowledge understands visa programs, citizenship, and legislative change
- Working with vendors: has worked with external delivery partners, including overseas providers




- Core business analysis: requirements, process maps (current and future state), gap analysis, impact assessments, and data mapping
- Testing and release: has led user acceptance testing and supported release planning

Key skills

- Running workshops and turning business needs into explicit requirements
- Managing risks and dependencies
- Writing business cases, briefings for executives and specifications
- Advising senior stakeholders
- Working within governance and delivery frameworks

Nice to have

- Experience with the ETA App or Immi App, or with border and visa digital services
- Experience with cyber and risk assessments.
- Experience with large vendors.
