Welding Supervisor - Snowy 2.0

Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to join our team on the Snowy 2.0 Project.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in overseeing welding quality across complex Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) works, ensuring all welding activities meet project specifications, approved procedures and industry standards.

Working closely with SMP Supervisors, Project Engineers and QA/QC teams, you will provide hands-on technical leadership, quality oversight and guidance to ensure work is delivered safely and to the required standard.

What you'll be doing

- Supervise welding activities across structural, mechanical and piping works.
- Ensure welders and fabricators comply with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Oversee weld preparation, fit-up, welding parameters and completed weld inspections.
- Verify welder qualifications and ensure welding activities meet applicable standards, including AS/NZS and ASME.
- Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and client inspections.
- Manage welding documentation, material traceability and quality records.
- Work closely with SMP Supervisors, Welding Engineers, Project Engineers and QA/QC teams.
- Identify quality issues, provide technical guidance and drive corrective actions.




- Maintain a robust focus on site safety and compliance.

What you'll bring

- Mandatory: AS 1796 Certificate 10 and AS 2214.
- Construction White Card.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in welding supervision within industrial, infrastructure, energy, mining or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS and ASME welding standards and welding specifications.
- Experience with welding quality assurance, NDT coordination, documentation and material traceability.
- Confidence working with site teams, contractors, engineers and client representatives.
- A hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
