As we continue to grow, so too does our team. We are looking for the right candidate to take on the role of HSE Operations Manager West. This is a Full time role based at our Dampier Slipway in Western Australia.

Position Overview

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Operations Manager West is responsible for leading and managing HSE scross Birdon's West Australian operational sites, ensuring effective implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems.

Key Accountabilities:

- Provide overall leadership and management of HSE across operational sites and projects in Western Australia.
- Facilitate effective consultation and engagement with workers and Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs).
- Oversee HSE performance, compliance, and risk management of contractors across operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, standards, and organisational requirements.
- Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring timely and effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System.




- Identify, assess, and control HSE risks through inspections, audits, risk assessments, and monitoring activities.
- Demonstrate HSE leadership and promote positive safety culture through coaching, training, and engagement.
- Monitor, analyse, and report HSE performance, trends, and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and manage HSE Advisor(s) supporting operations.
- Undertake travel to project and operational sites across Australia in line with business and project requirements.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Essential.

- Diploma in WHS

- ICAM Lead Investigator

- Construction Induction (White Card)

- Strong commitment to HSE principles
- Trainer experience
- Meet onboarding requirements of a mine site
- 5 years in a similar role

Desirable.

- Cert IV in Training and Assessment

- Emergency response experience

- Dangerous Goods experience

- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Drug & Alcohol testing qualifications
