Temporary role based in Newcastle CBDTemporary Receptionist / Concierge Aged Care

Newcastle, NSW Full-time Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm On-site

Your new company

Join a welcoming aged care facility based in Newcastle, where you'll be an important part of creating a positive and friendly environment for residents, visitors and staff. This is a people-focused workplace where no two days are quite the same.

Your new role

This isn't your typical reception role. As Receptionist / Concierge, you'll be the friendly face of the facility and a key point of contact for residents, families, visitors and staff. You'll be someone who enjoys getting out from behind the desk, building relationships with residents and helping with whatever comes up throughout the day.

Your responsibilities will include

- Providing a warm and welcoming front-of-house experience
- Managing general reception duties, phone calls and enquiries
- Assisting residents with day-to-day questions and ad hoc requests
- Helping residents with basic issues when needed, such as navigating their phone
- Coordinating lunch and dinner orders with the in-house kitchen
- Using SharePoint to access and manage information
- Creating and updating communications and materials using Canva
- Supporting the wider team with general administration
- Proactively identifying tasks and helping wherever required

What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoys working with people. You'll need to be comfortable taking initiative rather than waiting for the next task to land on your desk.

You'll ideally bring:

- Previous reception, concierge, administration or customer service experience
- Experience using SharePoint
- Experience using Canva
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, self-starting approach to work
- Confidence dealing with a wide variety of people and enquiries
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A willingness to get involved and assist residents with a broad variety of requests
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and general computer systems

What you'll get in return:

- Full-time hours, 38 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
- Temporary work through to the end of December, with the option to extend
- A varied role where you won't be stuck behind a reception desk all day
- The chance to build genuine relationships with residents and become a valued part of the facility
