Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full time, role based at IDL’s facility in Moorabool, VIC. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable oversight, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities. This role has three direct reports to oversee and mentor.

The Senior

Accountant prepares financial statements and management reports, supports budgeting and forecasting, and ensures accurate cost accounting for manufacturing operations. The role also focuses on compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements, and supports internal and external audits.

Accountant collaborates closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams to provide financial insights, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing or FMCG sector financial processes.
- Experience leading a small finance team.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, with experience supporting audits.
- Advanced skills in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and strong competency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and capability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly regarded.
- Experience in beverage, manufacturing, or a similar production-focused industry is an advantage.
