Lead civil engineering delivery and stay hands-on with the work.

Doolan is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to take responsibility for engineering delivery across our Civil Division’s projects.

Reporting directly to the Civil Construction Manager, you will directly manage and develop civil engineering staff within the Civil Division, while working closely with Project Managers and site teams to deliver safe, technically sound and commercially successful outcomes.

Your responsibilities

- Lead engineering delivery from tender handover through construction, commissioning and close-out.
- Set priorities, allocate engineering resources and review technical work.
- Resolve complex technical issues and develop practical construction methods.
- Ensure drawings, approvals, procurement and engineering requirements are ready ahead of construction.
- Review costs, quantities, productivity and forecasts, addressing risks and protecting project margins.
- Maintain quality, safety and environmental standards.
- Provide civil engineering support to Doolan’s other divisions as required.

What you will bring

- A recognised Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Extensive civil contractor experience, typically 10+ years,



with demonstrated senior responsibility across concurrent projects.
- Proven experience directly managing and developing engineering staff.
- Relevant experience in civil infrastructure, earthworks, drainage, water, sewer, pipelines or utilities.
- Strong technical judgement and commercial capability, including forecasting, variations, procurement and subcontractor management.
- The ability to work confidently with clients, consultants, authorities and site teams.
- Experience using Procore or comparable project systems.

Sydney Water or other water authority experience and Chartered status or progress towards it will be well regarded. A current Australian driver licence and Construction Induction White Card are required for site duties.
