About the Role

Painting By Modern is looking for an experienced Senior Painting Estimator to join our growing team, delivering commercial and industrial painting projects across Australia.

This role combines hands-on estimating with team coordination, overseeing tender submissions, managing workloads across a remote estimating team, and ensuring accurate, competitive and timely proposals.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess tender opportunities and prioritise projects based on capacity and potential success.
- Coordinate estimating workloads, allocate tasks and monitor deadlines across the remote team.
- Prepare and review take-offs, cost estimates and quotations.
- Ensure estimates accurately reflect project scope, site conditions, inclusions, exclusions and risks.
- Manage tender clarifications, supplier and subcontractor pricing, and submissions.




- Collaborate with leadership and state coordinators on pricing strategies and final proposals.
- Provide clear project handovers to Contracts and Operations teams.
- Support and guide estimators while improving estimating processes and standards.

About You

- Minimum 7 years of experience estimating commercial and industrial painting projects in Australia.
- Proven ability to coordinate tenders and manage estimating teams, including remote teams.
- Strong understanding of coating systems, surface preparation, labour, materials and project costs.
- Proficiency in PlanSwift or similar take-off software, Microsoft Excel and tender platforms.
- Strong commercial judgement, organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
