About the RoleAs a Civil Engineering Technician, you will undertake field and laboratory testing, support geotechnical investigations, analyse results and prepare technical reports to ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, Main Roads WA requirements and project specifications.

Working closely with our Branch Leader, Testing Coordinators and technical teams, you will play an key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects throughout Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
- Carry out and supervise subsurface investigations, including soil and rock sampling.
- Prepare, analyse and document testing results accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain detailed testing records.
- Undertake equipment checks, calibrations and routine maintenance.
- Prepare samples and operate specialised laboratory equipment.
- Assist with training and supervising junior technicians and trainees.
- Liaise with clients and project teams to ensure testing requirements are met.
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
- Manage workloads efficiently to meet project deadlines and productivity expectations.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, Main Roads WA specifications, quality procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.




- Maintain laboratory facilities, vehicles and equipment in a safe and operational condition.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or a relevant higher qualification.
- Current radiation licence.
- Demonstrated experience in construction materials testing, including soils, aggregates, concrete and/or asphalt.
- Sound technical knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Main Roads WA testing requirements.
- Experience in field investigations, soil sampling and laboratory testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
- A professional attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Current driver's licence.

Experience working within a NATA-accredited laboratory and familiarity with quality management systems will be highly regarded. What We Offer
